Before taking this medication, you should inform your doctor if you also take pimozide or thioridazine or other forms of Fluoxetine or Olanzapine (such as Prozac, Rapiflux, Sarafem, Selfemra, or Zyprexa) to prevent overdose. You should follow your doctor's instructions carefully and use this medicine as prescribed. It would be best if you did not increase your dosage or more than the tablet prescribed for you. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Never stop taking your medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor. Stopping an antidepressant medicine suddenly can cause other symptoms. Symbyax may make you feel dizzy, hence limiting your alcoholic beverages while on this medication. It would be best not to drive or operate heavy machines until you can do so. This medication can make it harder to control your body temperature. Avoid activities that might cause you to overheat (e.g., doing strenuous work, exercising in hot weather, or using hot tubs). Drink plenty of fluids to avoid becoming dehydrated. Call your doctor if you do not think you are getting better or have any concerns about your condition while taking Symbyax. Inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have or have had:
• Alzheimer disease;
• An enlarged prostate;
• Bleeding problems;
• Breast cancer;
• Diabetes, High cholesterol or triglycerides;
• Heart problems;
• High or low blood pressure;

It would be best to inform your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if Symbyax will harm your unborn baby. Suppose you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. Olanzapine and fluoxetine (Symbyax) can pass into your breast milk and may harm your baby. It would be best if you did not breastfeed while taking Symbyax. Talk to your doctor about the best way to feed your baby if you take Symbyax.

Tell your doctor about all the medications you use, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements to prevent drug interactions, which might be fatal to your health. This drug interaction may make your drug less effective, cause adverse effects, or potentiate other drugs' action. There may be a drug interaction between Symbyax and other drugs such as:
• Triptans used to treat migraine headaches;
• Medicines used to treat mood, anxiety, psychotic or thought disorders, including tricyclics, lithium, buspirone, SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, or antipsychotics;
