Cotellic is also used to treat histiocytic neoplasms (conditions that cause overproduction and accumulation of a type of white blood cell in parts of the body). Cotellic is used in combination with another anti-cancer medicine called vemurafenib. The active ingredient in Cotellic is Cobimetinib Fumarate. Cobimetinib Fumarate belongs to the group of medications called kinase inhibitors (anti-neoplasm). It works by blocking the action of an abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply, which helps slow or stop the spread of cancer cells.
