What is Crestor used for?

Rosuvastatin belongs to the group of drugs called HMG CoA reductase inhibitors or “statins.” This medication is combined with a proper diet to help lower “bad” cholesterol and fats (such as LDL, triglycerides) and raise “good” cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. It may also be used to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack and other heart problems in people with diabetes and coronary heart disease.
