Demadex (Torsemide) is a prescription medicine used to treat edema (fluid retention; excess fluid held in body tissues) caused by various medical problems, including heart, kidney, or liver disease. The active ingredient in the Demadex tablet is Torsemide. Torsemide belongs to the class of medications called Diuretics (Loop diuretics). It works to prevent your body from absorbing too much water and salt. Torsemide will ensure that any excess salt from your diet will be passed into your urine to be extracted from the body. Lowering blood pressure may reduce your risk of a stroke, heart attack, and excessive fluid accumulation.
