What Is Epiduo Gel used for?

Epiduo Gel is a topical medication prescribed for the treatment of acne vulgaris in people aged 9 years and above. Acne vulgaris is a condition wherein the skin has blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples. The efficacy and safety of Epiduo gel are not known in children younger than 9 years. This gel contains two active ingredients which act through different mechanisms. Adapalene regulates the process of cell differentiation, keratinization, and other inflammatory processes. Benzoyl peroxide is an oxidizing agent and has bactericidal and keratolytic effects. Epiduo Gel and Differin are both used for acne treatments but have different composition. To know more about the differences between Epiduo Gel and Differin.

What Is The Difference Between Epiduo Gen and Differin?

Both Epiduo Gel and Differin are used for the treatment of acne. Differin contains adapalene only whereas Epiduo gel contains both adapalene and benzoyl peroxide. The addition of benzoyl peroxide to adapalene in the Epiduo Gel helps to treat both inflammatory acne and comedonal acne (blackheads and whiteheads).
