It belongs to the class of drugs called antiandrogen receptors. The active substance in Nubeqa is darolutamide which works by competitively inhibiting androgen binding, androgen-receptor translocation and androgen-receptor transcription. This means that it binds to the androgen (male sex hormone, such as testosterone) receptor and prevents them from stimulating prostate cancer cells' growth.
