What is Reyataz Used for?

Reyataz (Atazanavir) is a prescription medicine used to control Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection. HIV is a virus that attacks the immune system, making a person more vulnerable to other infections and diseases. The active ingredient in Reyataz is Atazanavir. Atazanavir belongs to a class of drugs called Protease Inhibitors. It works by stopping the protein that the virus needs for multiplication. This, in turn, reduces the amount of HIV in your body and strengthens your immune system. Reyataz can only control HIV. It is not a cure for the infection. Your doctor may prescribe Reyataz in combination with other antiviral medicines to control your infection.

What are the Possible Side Effects of Reyataz?
