What is Steglujan used for?


Steglujan is used with metformin, diet and exercise to improve blood sugar (glucose) levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. Steglujan can be used with metformin when blood sugar is o NOT controlled on metformin and sitagliptin, or o already controlled on metformin, sitagliptin and ertugliflozin, as individual drugs. Steglujan is a tablet and contains two medicines: ertugliflozin and sitagliptin. They work together to reduce the amount of sugar in your blood. Ertugliflozin helps remove sugar from the body through the urine. Sitagliptin helps to increase your insulin when your blood sugar is high. Take the medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is to be taken once a day in the morning by mouth, with or without food. The usual adult dose is one tablet day. The usual starting dose is one 5 mg ertugliflozin/100 mg sitagliptin tablet each day. Your doctor may increase your dose to one 15 mg ertugliflozin/100 mg sitagliptin tablet to further control your blood sugar level. Steglujan is not recommended for use in patients under 18 years of age.

What Are The Possible Side Effects of Steglujan?


Some of the common side effects of Steglujan may include unusual thirst, vaginal itching, need to urinate more often, headache, sore throat, stuffy or runny nose, vomiting, constipation, joint and muscle pain. Some of the serious side effects of Steglujan include genital infections, dehydration, low blood sugar, urinary tract infection, kidney infection and problems, low blood pressure, diabetic ketoacidosis, and inflammation of pancreas.
