What is Verquvo Used for?

Verquvo (Vericiguat) is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with symptoms of chronic (long-lasting) heart failure who have had a recent hospitalization or the need to receive intravenous (IV) medication with poor ejection fraction (<45%) to reduce the risk of dying and to reduce the need to be hospitalized. The active ingredient in Verquvo is Vericiguat. Vericiguat belongs to the class of medication called Soluble Guanylate Cyclase Stimulators. It works by stimulating the enzyme involved in controlling heart muscle, and as a result, it relaxes and widens the blood vessels in the heart. This makes it easier for the heart to pump more blood and oxygen throughout the body.
