You should limit your alcohol intake while taking this medication because it may increase your risk of developing lactic acidosis, low blood sugar and a high ketone level. Xigduo XR should not be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. Metforming passes into breast milk in small amounts. It is unknown if Dapagliflozin passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breast-feeding a baby.

Xigduo XR should be stored at room temperature away from light and moisture and out of reach of children and pets. This medication should be stored in the bathroom.
