What is Acarizax Used for?


Acarizax (Standardized Allergen Extract HDM) is a prescription medicine commonly used as an allergy immunotherapy to treat people (18 to 65 years of age) with moderate to severe house dust mite-induced allergic rhinitis, with or without conjunctivitis, in adults. It contains an allergen extract that helps the body to be less sensitive to the house dust mite. The active ingredient in Acarizax is Standardized Allergen Extract HDM. Standardized Allergen Extract HDM belongs to the group of medications called allergy immunotherapy. It works by increasing the immune tolerance to house dust mites to reduce the severity of allergic reactions over time.

What are the Possible Side Effects of Acarizax?

• Dry mouth;

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to get pregnant, or breastfeeding a child. Do not use Acarizax during pregnancy. Your doctor will discuss the risks and benefits of using this medication. It would be best to consult your doctor for alternative ways to breastfeed your child.

Tell your doctor about all the medications you use, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements, to prevent drug interactions that might be fatal to your health.
