Amilzide contains a combination of 2 drugs, amiloride hydrochloride and hydrochlorothiazide. Amiloride hydrochloride helps the body lose excess salt but keep a normal amount of potassium in the blood. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic or “water pill” that increases urination.
