What is Clinoril used for?


Clinoril is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat pain, swelling, joint stiffness, and inflammation caused by arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, tendinitis, bursitis, or gout. It works by reducing the hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.

• Vomiting;

o Skin pain, followed by a purple rash that spreads to the upper body and causes blisters and peeling

Stop taking Clinoril and seek help if you have any signs of allergic reaction, which includes:
• Hives;
• Difficulty breathing;
• Swelling of your lips, face, tongue, and/or throat

Are there any Precautions and Drug interactions of Clinoril?


You should not use Clinoril if you’re allergic to salmeterol, or if you’ve ever had, or will have, any of the following:
• An asthma attack
• Severe allergic reaction after taking aspirin or any other NSAID
• Bypass heart surgery (coronary artery bypass graft)

Be sure to talk to your doctor to determine if Clinoril is safe for you, particularly if you have or have had the following:
• Heart disease;
• High blood pressure;
• High cholesterol;
• Diabetes;
• If you smoke;
• History of heart attack, stroke, or blood clot;
• History of stomach ulcers or bleeding;
• Kidney disease or history of kidney stones;
• Liver disease;
• Pancreas disorder;
• Asthma;
• Fluid retention;
• Connective tissue disease, such as Marfan syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, or lupus

Clinoril can have adverse reactions to other medications or products. We can’t list them all, but here are some of the most notable ones to be aware of:
Antidepressants;
• Cyclosporine;
• Lithium;
• Methotrexate;
• A blood thinner;
• Heart or blood pressure medication;
• Diuretic;
• Oral diabetes medicines;
• Steroid medications

Be sure to talk to your doctor if you are using any of the above medications, and any of those you start or stop while on Clinoril.

Clinoril Storage and Safety Information


Store Clinoril at room temperature away from extreme heat, light, and moisture.

Clinoril may harm an unborn baby during last 3 months of pregnancy, and it’s unknown whether or not it will affect a nursing infant. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or if you’re nursing a baby.

This medication can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long-term or take high doses, or if you have heart disease. Even patients who don’t have heart disease or risk factors could have a stroke or heart attack while taking Clinoril. Get emergency help if you have signs of heart attack or stroke.

Clinoril may also cause stomach or intestinal bleeding, which can be fatal. This can happen without warning, especially in older adults.

Avoid drinking alcohol while on this medication, as it can increase your risk of stomach bleeding.

Avoid aspirin or other NSAIDs while on Clinoril, including cold or allergy medicines that contain NSAIDs.

Clinoril is not approved to be used by anyone under the age of 18.

Seek emergency help or call Poison Control at 1-800-463-5060 immediately if you suspect an overdose.
Overdose symptoms include:
• Severe stomach pain
• Vomit that looks coffee grounds
• Extreme drowsiness
• Loss of consciousness
• Slowed or shallow breathing
