The active ingredient in the Norlutate tablet is Norethindrone Acetate. Norethindrone Acetate belongs to the class of medicine called progestins. It works by stopping the normal growth of the uterus lining during the menstrual cycle and signaling hormone changes in the uterus to restore normal menstrual periods.

This medication should not be used in pregnancy and by breastfeeding mothers. This medicine may pass into breast milk. Your doctor will tell you to stop using this medicine while breastfeeding.
