The common side effects may include easy bruising or minor bleeding. Inform your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects such as:

• Pink or dark urine;
• Prolonged menstrual flow;
• Severe headache, dizziness and fainting;
• Unusual easy bruising;

Are there any Precautions or Drug Interactions for Pradaxa?


You should not take Pradaxa if you are allergic to Dabigatran or if you have any other allergies. Before you start using this medication, talk to your doctor about his medical history and about all the medications he takes including OTC and herbal medications. The medication may cause stomach bleeding. Limit alcoholic beverages. This medication should only be used during pregnancy when it is clearly needed. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. There may be an interaction between Pradaxa and other medications such as clopidogrel, apixaban, enoxaparin, etc. do not discontinue use of pradaxa abruptly to prevent risk of clot formation that may lead to stroke or heart attack. Talk with your doctor if you have recently had or will be having a spinal or epidural procedure. Some time may need to pass between the use of this drug and your procedure.

Pradaxa Safety and Storage Information


Pradaxa should be stored at room temperature between 59 degrees F to 86 degrees F or 15-30 degrees celcius. Unused Pradaxa should be thrown away after four months. Pradaxa should be kept in the original bottle or blister package to keep it dry. Unused pradax in open bottles should be discarded after 4 months.
