Are There Alternative Names for the Brand and Generic Angeliq?

Angeliq is manufactured by Bayer and comes from Canada. It contains the active ingredients as estradiol and Drospirenone. The generic equivalent of Angeliq is not available.

What Dosages and Forms is Angeliq available in?

Angeliq is available in a 28-day regimen. Each blister pack contains 28 dark pink film-coated tablets. Each tablet contains 1 mg drospirenone and 1 mg estradiol-17ß.

What is Angeliq used for?

Angeliq is used in post-menopausal women with an intact uterus to reduce and relieve vasomotor symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats. It is also used to treat severe dryness, itching, and burning in and around the vagina associated with menopause. Take the medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Angeliq should be used under the supervision of a doctor with regular follow-ups. Follow-up may include breast exam, blood pressure check, mammogram, a Pap smear and pelvic exam. At the time of menopause, the level of hormones, called estrogens, produced by woman, begin to drop. When estrogen levels drop, some women develop very uncomfortable symptoms such as feelings of warmth in face, and chest, or sudden strong feelings of heat and sweating. The estradiol in Angeliq relieves your menopausal symptoms. If you have had a hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus), endometrial hyperplasia (due to estrogen in Angeliq) cannot occur and administration of a progestin is not necessary. Therefore, Angeliq should not be used by women who have had a hysterectomy. Take Angeliq exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take one pill of Anegliq once a day, every day. You can take the pill anytime of the day, with or without food.

What Are The Possible Side Effects of Angeliq?

Some of the common side effects of Angeliq may include abdominal pain, bloating, pain in fingers and toes, nausea, tiredness, headache, mood swings, nervousness, enlarged breasts, increased size of fibroids in uterus, vaginal discharge, and depression.
