What is Dilantin used for?


Dilantin belongs to a group of medications called anti-epileptics and is used to control seizures. It is specifically used for control of generalized tonic-clonic seizures, and psychomotor seizures and the prevention and treatment of seizures that may begin during or after surgery to the brain or nervous system.. Take the medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Usual starting dose of Dilantin capsules is 100 mg three times daily. The starting dose of oral suspension is 5 mg/kg/day in two or three equally divided doses.
