What is Evista used for?
Evista (Raloxifene) tablets are used for the prevention and treatment of bone loss after menopause. Raloxifene belongs to a family of medications called selective estrogen receptor modifiers (SERMs). This medication works by slowing the breakdown of bone and promoting the building of new bone. Raloxifene may also lower the chance of getting a certain type of breast cancer after menopause. Raloxifene is not an estrogen hormone, but it acts like estrogen in some parts of the body, like your bones.
