What is Myfembree Used for?

Myfembree (Relugolix/Estradiol/Norethindrone Acetate) is a prescription medicine used to control heavy menstrual bleeding due to uterine fibroids in premenopausal women. Uterine fibroids are likely in premenopausal women due to the influx of estrogen that appears months or years before menopause sets in. During this period, menstrual cycles are dominated by estrogen. Myfembree is also used to manage moderate to severe pain from endometriosis in premenopausal women. Myfembree is a combination medicine. The active ingredients in Myfembree are Relugolix, Estradiol, and Norethindrone Acetate. Relugolix belongs to a class of drugs called gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor antagonists. It works by reducing the amount of estrogen and other hormones produced by the ovaries. Estradiol belongs to a class of medications called estrogens. It works by reducing the risk of bone loss. Norethindrone Acetate belongs to a class of drugs called progestins. It works by reducing the risk of cancer of the uterus due to estradiol.

Are there any Precautions and Drug Interactions for Myfembree?

Before using this medication, you should tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to Myfembree or have other problems when using Myfembree. It is crucial to continue using this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Myfembree is a tablet. Take this drug with or without food. You should start this medication as soon as possible after your period begins but no later than 7 days after your period has started. Starting on another day may make your period heavy or irregular for the first month after starting treatment. The bleeding should decrease after this time. Take your Myfembree dose 6 hours before other medications. This drug may cause blotchy, dark areas on your skin. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and tanning booths to reduce the risk of this effect. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Inform your doctor if there is no improvement in your condition.

You should not use Myfembree and inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have or have had:
• A history of blood clots;
• Blood circulation disorders;
• Breast cancer;
• Depression;
• Diabetes;
• Liver disease;
• Osteoporosis;
• Stroke;
• Uncontrolled high blood pressure

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant. Myfembree increases the risk of early pregnancy loss. This drug can reduce your menstrual bleeding or result in no bleeding at all, making it difficult to know if you are pregnant. Watch out for other signs of pregnancy, like weight gain, nausea, and breast tenderness. Myfembree does not prevent pregnancy. Use effective non-hormonal birth control during treatment and for 1 week after you stop treatment. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding. It is unknown if Relugolix passes into breast milk. Estradiol and Norethindrone may decrease breast milk production. A small amount of Estradiol and Norethindrone may pass into breast milk and cause undesirable side effects in a nursing infant. This medicine is not approved for use in children.

Tell your doctor about all the medications you use, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements, to prevent drug interactions that might be fatal to your health. This drug interaction may make your drug less effective, cause adverse effects, or potentiate other drugs' actions. There may be a drug interaction between Myfembree and other drugs, such as:
Clarithromycin;
• Ketoconazole;
• Amiodarone;
• Ritonavir;
• Carbamazepine;
• Phenytoin;
• St. John's wort
