Pariet (Rabeprazole) is used in adults for relieving symptoms and heal duodenal ulcers, stomach ulcers, for healing gastroesophageal reflux disease

This medication is also used to treat the flow of bitter or sour juice into the mouth (regurgitation), treat symptoms of non-erosive reflux disease (NERD) such as heartburn and regurgitation, maintain long-term healing of GERD, treat rare conditions where excess acid is produced in the stomach (such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome). It is also used for the treatment of infection with the bacterium, Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) and prevention of these ulcers from coming back by taking Pariet with antibiotics such as amoxicillin and clarithromycin, as directed by your doctor. Pariet is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) and works by reducing the amount of acid made in your stomach. Take Pariet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Use the lowest and shortest dose as determined by your doctor. Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not crush or chew the tablets. The medication can be taken with or without meals.

Some of the common side effects of this medication include headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain or tenderness.
