What is Tiazac XC Used for?

The active ingredient in Tiazac XC is Diltiazem Hydrochloride. Diltiazem Hydrochloride belongs to a class of medications called Antidysrhythmic, IV; calcium channel blockers. Diltiazem works by relaxing blood vessels and reducing the heart's workload. This mechanism allows the blood to flow more easily. As a result, treating hypertension prevents sudden cardiac death and damage to the kidney, liver, and brain (stroke).
