Are There Alternative Names for the Brand and Generic Cingal?

Branded Cingal comes from Canada and is manufactured by Pendopharm Pharmascience. There is no generic form of Cingal available right now.

What Dosages and Forms is Cingal available in?

Cingal is manufactured by Pendopharm Pharmascience and is available as Injection Syringe 4 ml. Each 4 mL pre-filled syringe of Cingal consists of 88 mg of cross-linked hyaluronic acid Monovis and 18 mg of a corticosteroid, triamcinolone hexacetonide.

What is Cingal used for?

The medication Cingal is an intra-articular injection, indicated for the treatment of pain in osteoarthritis of the knee in those patients who have shown inadequate response to conservative non-pharmacological therapy and simple painkillers (such as acetaminophen). This medication contains cross-linked hyaluronic acid and a corticosteroid triamcinolone hexacetonide, which provides short-term relief from pain.

What Are The Possible Side Effects of Cingal?

Side effects can occur when Cingal is injected into the knee joint. Some side effects include pain, swelling, heat, rash, itching, bruising, and redness. The skin at the injection site can turn thinner or change its color. You can also experience facial flushing. Temporary increases in inflammation in the injected knee after intra-articular injection have also been reported in patients with inflammatory osteoarthritis. These side effects are normally mild and last for a very short time. In case any of these symptoms appear after the injection or in case you have other problems not mentioned here, contact your healthcare professional.
